Creating a Counterculture in Negative World
Discussing Cultural Apologetics on the Kingdom and Culture Podcast
I recently had the privilege to join my friends on the Kingdom and Culture podcast to discuss the pressing realities of the 'Negative World,' a concept outlined by Aaron Renn. Coming from Zambia and now living in Moscow, Idaho, I sought to provide a unique perspective to this discussion, arguing that this phenomenon isn’t limited to the West—it’s universal. I attempted to highlight how the church’s apathy and shallow theology have contributed to societal chaos and make the case for recovering a robust vision of Christ’s sovereignty over all of life. I endeavored to emphasize the need for Christians to be ambitious, to build distinct institutions, and to engage in cultural transformation with joy and optimism. We wrapped up the conversation with practical takeaways on thriving in a hostile world—anchoring our approach in joy, confidence, and faithful Christian living.
