This past weekend, my wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary and joined the festivity of Mother’s Day. To commemorate these occasions, I would like to share a poem I wrote several years ago and recently adapted.
The charmed appeal of pearl and gold The poise that sets your crown May tales be told a millionfold Of what in you is found Your virtue, light, and wholesome beauty We must oft commend Your gentle spirit marks you truly As mother, queen, and friend The paths on which your feet have trod Know life, and light, and care Your nurturing hands are gifts from God A touch of love so rare The echoes of your soft still voice Are not just heard but felt Your words speak life and I rejoice For generous blessings dealt A priceless gift, a mark of grace My crown is owed to you Before the Throne we find our place A covenant strong and true
Oh my goodness, this is SO beautiful!!! Soli Deo Gloria!!!
